Bio

Karl Schroder is a New York City based cinematographer whose career spans over two decades.  His dynamic portfolio includes acclaimed feature-length documentary films, broadcast commercials, short form advocacy, and branded content and digital marketing films. He is recognized for his artistry as well as his broad technical expertise and mastery of lighting.

Schroder's collaborations on feature documentaries include well renowned and widely distributed "Darkon" winner of the 2006 Audience Award at SXSW, and Motorhead Rock Doc, "Lemmy", which went gold in the US, UK and Germany.

Schroder has partnered with prestigious global advertising agencies (Merkley + Partners, Ogilvy, DDB...) creating campaigns for major brands such as Cadillac, Ethan Allen, Delta Airlines, Hellmans, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, Safeway, Samsung and Verizon amongst many others.  His 14 year collaboration with documentary masters, Henry Corra and Joshua Seftel, includes a broad spectrum of short-form advocacy work for the Ad Council, American Cancer Society, FDA, Vilcek Foundation, Muslim-Jewish Council Advisory, and the New York and Texas Departments of Health making emotionally charged, non-scripted films.  Karl has also worked in collaboration with artists Godfrey Reggio and Gregory Crewdson amongst others.
